Launched last year in Shanghai, fresh foods distributor Hema (part of the Alibaba group) offers a one-of-a-kind online and in-store shopping experience.

 

Using an Online-to-Offline (O2O) approach, it offers customers a range of pre-packaged and/or ready-to-eat dishes - made using fresh products sold at the store - that can be heated up or cooked right in the shop or enjoyed at home. Customers, who are either on or off line, pay for their products via an app and have their food delivered in 30 minutes or less.
